NOTC
The NOTC system is an information system for unlisted shares and must not be confused with a stock exchange. To put it briefly, the system functions by the securities dealers entering buy and sell interests in the system if they have customers who want to buy or sell shares in a company on the NOTC-list. Other securities dealers can see these interests on their computer monitors and can phone the securities dealer to agree on a possible transaction if they have a customer who has entered a reciprocal order. If the trade comes about, the buying securities dealer must register the transaction in the system.
The Norwegian Securities Dealers Association administers an information system for unlisted shares (the NOTC system) that is owned by NOTC AS. In this system:
- associated member firms can register their buying and selling interests and report purchases
- separate user rules are stipulated
- information on prices and companies is distributed throughout the trading day, with updates every two minutes
- closing price information is updated daily on the Association’s website after 4.30 pm
- market statistics are published
Enquiries regarding the use and support of the NOTC-system can be directed to Per Broch Mathisen: pbm@vpff.no - +47 23 11 17 41 The Norwegian Securities Dealers Association and NOTC wish to emphasise that:
- the purchase and sales prices which are registered are only indicative
- the Association and NOTC AS are not liable for the prices registered
- the information distributed by the registered companies is not checked by the Association or FINFO
- the information published by the companies is solely the responsibility of the individual company
